-
You must attend one of our INFORMATION CLASSES, which are held ONE WEEK prior to the start of confined water training (dates listed below)..
-
Complete all four confined water training sessions. All necessary equipment is included as well as mask, snorkel, and fins
Once you have successfully completed all requirements in the confined water sessions, you will be prepared for your Open Water Training Dives. You may choose any of these weekends to do your certification, but you must attend both days. On Saturday, your dives will be done at Kankakee Quarry (entry fee is $20.00-cash only). On Sunday, your dives will be done at Kickapoo State Park, Danville, IL.
You must provide your own transportation. Carpooling is suggested.
Drive time to Kankakee is 1.5 hours and to Kickapoo it is 35 minutes.
These weekends are limited to 10 people, so decide early and sign up ASAP. At that time you will need to have a wetsuit fitting, which takes about 5-10 minutes, and pay your certification fee of $165. You must have boots and adjustable fins to do these dives; if you don't, we can rent them to you for $20.
Dress warmly and bring some food and drink. You will also need your dive table/ERDP and your logbook.
On Sunday, you will need a picture (1"x2") for your certification card.
